USB 3.2 Gen 2X2 and Mac Book Pro 16'

I just don't get it, I just purchased a MacBook Pro 16" with lots of additional hardware upgrades. Spending very close to $5G. You would have thought, Apple would have included USB 3.2 Gen 2X2. I find this astounding. Apple needs to get their ________ together. Why did they care for us that we would want that?

hi.

the laptop uses thunderbolt 3's usb 3.1 subset over usb-c.

usb 2x2 simply did not exist at the time intel created the titan ridge thunderbolt controller and has yet to release one that has it. this is less an apple issue and more an industry adoption issue, additionally, is there a reason that 40gbps thunderbolt 3 isn't up to par for you? it should be faster and more flexible than usb 2x2 (pcie, displayport, usb, power delivery)?

just another user like you, but your question soft of confused me.

anyway I hope this helps. thunderbolt works way better for me than usb 3.1 (and would still be faster than 2x2 anyway)
