Can migration assistant be restarted? Has been working for hours but will not complete.

iMac Line (2012 and Later)

I hate to tell you this, but the best and fastest way to transfer this large amount of data is with a USB cable. Anything else is much slower, and being slower, data corruption may occur.

Are the Macs connected with Ethernet to each other or WiFi?

Connected by Ethernet cable. Codes matched and everything looked good. Seems to be taking too may hours for migration.
