Can’t turn off my 12 pro max. Directions given aren’t working. This is a new phone. Accidentally phoned Emergency services and cancelled that. Screen is now frozen so I get to my serial number. How can I keep a phone with no direction & that I have never had experience with? I have to go to work now but I’ve been working on this all weekend!!!!

To turn off the iPhone, instead of using buttons and/or specific gestures, go to Settings>General>Shut down (the last option at the very bottom).

I'm taking over this one. That screen is locked on, the slide at top won’t slide and the cancel at the bottom doesn’t either. The medical and emergency slides will work. New out of box but backed up without the chip. Trying to turnoff to insert chip.
The screen where you activated the emergency service also has a Shut Down function at the Top.
