How do I optimize my mac's storage without downloading other softwares like cleanmymacx?

If you click on the Apple on the Top Left corner of your screen and then click "About this Mac" then you'll get to a window where you can click on "Storage" at the top of the window that pops up. In there you'll be able to click on "Manage" and at that point you'll see what you can do to clean up your Mac to optimize the data that you have used on your Mac and what you can remove to get the space back.
