Rotten smelly cord MacBook Air

the cable for my new MacBook has the most disgusting musty smell. It smells out the whole room. Ive tried clearing and leaving it outside all day. Its now 3 weeks. The smell does not go away.

I read many people have this problem with MacBook Air cords. I also read on the web it has something to do with the off shore manufacturing process.

Has anybody found a solution or has Apple.
