Macbook bluetooth keeps going on and off which affects my bluetooth devices' connectivity

I have a MacBook air 2017. Since a few weeks ago (before/after update did not matter) my Bluetooth keeps going on and off. Because of that, my keyboard and AirPods are connecting and disconnecting continuously. I have turned off the Bluetooth of my other devices to which my keyboard and AirPods could connect.

I have tried to:

  1. Rebooting Bluetooth using shift+alt+clicking on Bluetooth icon
  2. Removing com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
  3. Turning Bluetooth on/off, turning the laptop on/off

Please let me know if there is something I did not try out yet.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.2

Hello

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

We understand that the Bluetooth on your MacBook Air is turning off and on. We would recommend starting with checking for interference, which can cause the signal to drop out:

If none of these steps help, try disconnecting any devices that are physically connected to your Mac, like hard drives. Then reset the SMC and the NVRAM on your Mac:

To further isolate this issue, try disconnecting from Wi-Fi. If you have the option to connect to Ethernet you can do that, and see if the same issues continues when not connected to Wi-Fi.

Best regards.
