A curated (and periodically changing) selection of movies in the iTunes Store may have the 0.99 price tag for renting. The buy price (unlimited rewatching) will be higher.

Other movies will have a higher renting price.

The 0.99 rent selection may not be available in all regions.

What will be charged?

When you click the Rent button with a price tag, then that is the amount that you agree to, and that is what will be charged.
