the camera of my MacBook Air 2020 is not working properly. The image is grainy and of very low quality. My iMac dated 2011 has a much better camera. What is the cause of this problem, and what can I do about it?

To get started, can you tell us any other conditions where you observe this? For example, are you in a bright/properly lit room, or does this only happen in dimmer light, etc?
Also, what apps have you tested the camera with so far? Does it show the same in all apps? Be sure to note that this model only has a 720p camera, so it may not be comparable to some other devices like an iPhone.

However, you may also need to take your Mac in to be inspected in person.
