Apple Music iCloud status error unable to reset path to local file

I have a large music library and after I subscribed to Apple Music, some tracks/albums have their cloud status as ERROR.

I am no longer able to play them even if they are in my local iTunes media folder.

Is there any way to import them back without losing the play counts and/or creating duplicates?

Thank you.

I've tried that but no luck. The track is added as a new one, it ends up duplicating the track in the album.

EDIT: Turns out, it DID work, with a few more steps.

  1. Uncheck and check Sync library (all tracks in error reset to waiting)
  2. Dragged the tracks back to library (which displayed as duplicates)
  3. Forced library sync to cloud (which made the tracks merge and nothing was lost)
  4. All is well in the world.
