Apple support asks me to disable Find my iPad

Hello, I live in a country without Apple stores, but there's a company who has been authorized to handle warranties and sells.

I sent my iPad because it came with a deffect within the screen, and after they received it they ask me to disable Find my iPad remotely in order to run the diagnostics. Is this a normal thing to ask?

They've been working with Apple for over 25 years and they seem legit, but I just needed to ask to be sure.

Thank you.
