My old Iphone dropped and broken, bought a new one and when trying to complete the setup it is asking the passcode of the old one. My old phone passcode is alphanumeric and there is no option to enter alphanumeric passcode for the old phone passcode. any help how to get through this. I checked from the local apple agent and they wanted me to check here.

I guess this Is to sync with the data encrypted through the old phone. First screen capture is to enter my new phone passcode in alphanumeric and the second screen capture popped up after the new phone passcode and I can’t enter my old phone alphanumeric passcode here and can’t sync some of the data in the iCloud
That's odd, I don't see that step mentioned in this article about restoring a device from a backup:
