AOL.com email no longer works on my mail map

AOL.com can no longer be added to my Mail app on my MacBook Pro using OS El Capitan. I can retrieve email from the AOL site but not from my Mail app. I get a message saying "Unable to verify account name or password" when I try to add AOL mail to my Mail app, but account name and password work to log me into my AOL email from the AOL site. Can this be fixed?
