Apple TV 2nd generation and Samsung 8 series will not airplay

Hello, I have a friend that has a Samsung 8 Series smart tv that he purchased for AirPlay, but it has never been able to AirPlay.

I went over and checked over everything and it was on the right network and the everything appeared to be in order. I brought my 4th generation Apple TV to test the devices with (iPhone 12 Pro and 2020 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro and everything worked as expected with the Apple TV, but not the Samsung.

We checked that there were no software updates for the TV and there was and so we did the update and hoped that after that completed it would work. It was the only Samsung Smart TV in the building that was not AirPlaying, so I thought that the AirPlay function in the tv must have just been bad.

I recommend that he get an Apple TV 2nd Generation online, because I had one and knew other people that have 2nd gen Apple TVs that they use purely for the AirPlay functionality, and worked.

He got it and funnily enough it did not AirPlay either. I will be checking it out tomorrow, but I was curious as to what people on here thought about what the cause could be.
