Why does Safari hang? I have to restart at least once a day to get Safari to run

Why does Safari hang? I have to restart at least once a day to get Safari to run. I'm on a MacBook Pro 2.6 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 with the most current OS—11.2.3. Also Google Chrome works fine. Deleting preferences and cookies and restarting the app does nothing. I have to restart the computer to get Safari to work. Is the best advice to use another browser?

Quit any apps you’re not using.

If you have problems with your disk, use Disk Utility to verify and try to fix any issues.

Use Activity Monitor to see if a particular app or activity is making a large demand on your Mac.
