Siri can’t take me home

Whenever I asked “Siri, directions home” Siri always used to do exactly that and give me directions home. However, relatively recently this has stopped working and Siri instead says “ I can’t seem to access that data right now. Can you try again in a little while?“

This bug has also effected my music, Siri is unable to find any of my personal playlists.

What is strange is that the bug is effecting both me and my partners phones, we are part of a family group. We have logged out of iCloud and back in to see if that fixes things but nothing seems to have worked. Is anyone else experiencing these issues?

I've actually resolved my first issue (the address not working).

It's because my address isn't found on apple maps because I live on a farm and my house just has a name (no number), apparently people have the same issue with PO Boxes. The fix for this is to change your home address and set it to a nearby road that shows on maps (a house with a number). I did this and I can now say "take me home", and it works. Thought this might be useful for people googling the same issue.

Hi adamkylegreen,

We see you're unable to use Siri to give you directions or locate playlists and other tasks you were able to do in the past.

To aid us in isolating this issue, can you confirm the following?

  • Do you encounter this issue on both Wi-Fi and cellular data?
  • Does it persist using both "Hey Siri" and if you activate Siri via the side or top buttons?

Additionally, take a moment to toggle off Listen for "Hey Siri" and "Press Side Button for Siri" under Settings > Siri & Search on your iPhone, then choose the option to turn Siri off. After that, turn it back on, and set up Hey Siri again if need be, and test the issue again.

Let us know the results from there.

Cheers!

adamkylegreen,

Thanks for the additional details.

If yours is a non-standard address, Apple Maps may have an issue locating it.

In this case, we'd recommend submitting feedback for the Apple Maps app. You can do so by following the steps under the "If you need to report an issue in Maps or add a missing place" section of the following article:

Take care.
