IOS16 Siri stays activated permanently

Ever since updating to iOS 16 (and now 16.2) whenever I ask Siri something I get my answer verbally and displayed on the screen as normal, but instead of Siri then disappearing off my screen after a few seconds, Siri just stays there forever. The circle at the bottom keeps twirling away and the information stays on the screen. I have to say “hey Siri dismiss“ or swipe up on my screen. This is absolutely ridiculous. I’ve checked all settings but there is nothing I can do to stop this from happening. Has anyone else experienced this? Apple, can you please please put it back to how it was? I won’t bore you with all the reasons this is extremely annoying. Imagine every time you ask a person a question, after they answer, you have to say, “hey John, dismiss.“

Solved: go to settings, accessibility, Siri, and select “prefer spoken responses“. It seems Siri will stay on if the user is looking at the screen, otherwise it will disappear after five seconds. You’re welcome :-)
