How to prevent Apple Music from changing the album (and album artwork) for random songs in your library?

An example is shown below. All 5 of these songs were from the same album when added to the library years ago. Now it is listed as part of the Live EP Bonus Edition (a change which I didn't make).

Using the right click and then "show in Apple Music" feature confirms that the song is now a different version, and that the original has been removed from my library.

This problem has been going on for years at this point. I might consider unsubscribing from Apple Music if this and other technical issues are not resolved.

It is possible that your original purchase in the store has been merged with a rereleased version of the album with updated metadata. To prevent the store version of metadata overriding any local changes you might make hide the affected purchase from your purchase history. Your matched or uploaded track should then retain its metadata, even if you offload your local download.
