looking for how to fix a problem with ALL members of a group getting my message when I only want to send to ONE member of the group (my ICE group). Relatively new problem!

Hmmm, something is corrupted...
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
Mail>Window>Previous Recipients, highlight the ones you don't want & click the Remove from list button.
I can only guess that one contact & one group have letters in common& you're tying in some name & it autofills???
How bout if you copy/paste the single contact in the To: field?
On the Mail App's Window menu item>Previous Recipients...
Sorry, that's not quite the problem. ICE group established a long time ago and has not caused a problem. Just recently, when I send a text or iMessage to one member of the group it goes to at least two others and the "contact name" on the iMessage list says "ICE" instead of the person's name am talking to. This iMac is fairly new (this winter) and his running macOS BigSur version 11.2.3.
