You can use USB-C adapters to monitors of certain types.

If yours is Apple Silicon M1 that's noted among others:

• Use external monitors with your Mac - Apple Support

• Identify the ports on your Mac - Apple Support

• Adapters for the Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C port on your Mac or iPad Pro - Apple Support

An older off-spec display may require you to use adapters to fit later adapters.

A newer higher spec external monitor equal to the output of a new model

MacBook/Air 13-inch 2020+ (depends on M1 or Intel-based tech) is best.

After about half hour of search and research; and cannot say I could

recommend use of 2011-2014 27" Apple Thunderbolt A1407 IPS LCD.

Perhaps others with a newer 2020+ build MacBook Air 13" will weigh in?
