Spammed with offer to call a number
I was visiting a site when one of the links opened up another popup. It was just another phishing website that told me that "my iPhone is broken" and to "call now". But it also spammed me with the offer to call the number. I didn't get a screenshot of it, but it basically spammed my iPhone telling it that I clicked on a number (which I didnt) like 5,000 times. (to replicate the notification, click on a phone number in a browser on your phone). Even after I closed out of DuckDuckGo (the app I was using), it continued to spam me with this notification. any attempt to power off my phone would be pointless because the notification overrides that screen and closes it.
eventually after a few minutes it stopped. The only fixes I've found are to either wait it out or force shut down your phone (without using the screen). I'm pretty sure the site queued up a ton of those notifications so the iPhone had to go through all of them before it would stop. I'm pretty sure the longer you are on that site, you will get way more notifications.
Now, even though this happened on the DuckDuckGo app, it would probably also happen if that popup opened up on Safari. in any case, I'm not sure what apple could do about it, but I hope there is an actual fix eventually, because there is no way to avoid that from happening.
