Mac activation fails in recovery mode

Hi!

My mother just got brand new MacBook air, but she forgot her password. We tried every way

how to change it, but apple ID thing did not work, there were no questions

about changing or recovering the password, so I ended up changing it in

recovery mode from terminal. I guess it did not work because now her mac is in

recovery mode and says, "failed to create activation request". I am completely

desperate because when I try to restart the computer the same thing shows up

and I do not know what to do anymore.

Hello, Androo_!

After reviewing your post, it seems like you are running into an error message after making some changes in Terminal, resulting in your Mac no longer booting. We definitely understand that would be a concern and we'd love to help. Since the Mac is brand new, it might be easiest to simply reinstall macOS Big Sur and start your mom’s Mac out fresh: How to reinstall macOS.

Please let us know if you have follow-up questions, or if the issue remains unresolved. Have a great day!
