My outgoing camera does not work for FaceTime. It does not appear as an app in privacy settings/camera. I have been trying for 3 weeks to fix this. It all started with an upgrade to Big Sur 11. I have followed all the tips on the apple site but nothing works.

What happened when you tested in safe mode? Was there an error message of any sort?

I did everything listed. My camera works in photo booth. I went to system preferences/security & privacy and clicked on camera.
Only 2 apps were listed that I don't use and I don't have an option to add FaceTime. I don't know what else to do.
I have not gotten any error messages but I am not sure how to get to safe mode. I am using the built in camera. I can see the people on the other end. I can not be seen by them: the screen is black and says paused.
I restarted my computer 3 times following the directions for the intel processor. "Safe mode" does not appear in the upper right hand corner. What next? Thanks!
