I have deleted my mail account from mac now cannot add it back. What do I do.

My Aol mail account stopped working and kept giving me an error message that it could not validate my username or password. I know password for aol account is correct because it works when I log in directly to aol. So I deleted account from mac now cannot add it back as it gives me the same error message

I've lost my AOL account and can't bring it back in Hi I'm Steve Following the standard advice about problems with AOL mail not working properly via my mac mail, I deleted the AOL account and attempted to re-enter it but am now getting "unable to verify the username or password" message. My iMac is 11 years old and I am led to believe that this is the root of the problem - something about my Mail app being too old for the AOL system to accept. Does anybody know a work around so i can view my AOL emails in Mac mail again?

Deleted malfunctioning AOL Account from Mail and now I cant add it back Hi, My AOL email account using Apple Mail (version 11.5) is suddenly not working and says "unable to verify account name or password." I went to AOL.com and I can login, so I know that the username and passwords are correct. My computer is old (iMAc 11,2, MAC OS High Sierra 10.13.6) and in the past AOL has instructed me to delete and re-add AOL for a more secure connection. Thinking this might work for this problem, I deleted my AOL email account from Apple Mail and now I cant re-add the AOL account. It still says "unable to verify account name or password". I also tried generating a third party app password at AOL.com, but it doesnt work when I use it to sign into the Apple Mail, I guess becuase the AOL account was already deleted. Any other suggestions? Thanks
