My iMac keeps coming up with these unwanted fake websites in the middle of something Im doing, and they frequently are "Apple support" which is probably fake and "update your Flash player" which I think is fake also. How do I get rid of these and the constant interruption of these pop up websites?
iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.15
1. Follow instructions given here. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203987
2. Try an ad-blocker from App. store Safari extensions
Click Safari in the Safari menu bar and choose “Safari Extensions”
Enter Adblock in the search bar and choose the one like to use.
3. Remove adware if installed on your Mac.
Run the latest release of Malwarebytes for Mac to remove malware/adware, if installed on your Mac.
For instructions: Install Malwarebytes for Mac v4 Uninstall Malwarebytes for Mac
Click the “Scan Now” button. Once done, quit Malwarebytes for Mac.
Restart the computer and relaunch Safari holding the shift key down.
Scan for Malware again.
