Recently I have change my Apple ID from one that was shared with a couple people and not registered with my email after changing I have noticed that all of my apps have stayed but I can no longer update them can somebody please help?

Those purchases are tied to the other ID and can't be transferred. One option is to delete the apps/purchases made by the other ID and download them using the new ID if desired. After deleting the apps, it may be necessary to restart the device/computer before you can download the apps again. If necessary, check your purchases history to see which apps/purchases weren’t made by the current ID.
Note: since the Apple ID I used to use was shared with multiple people I cannot change the email address to my email address as it is still used by a couple people.
I already know that I can re-download the app so the problem is first of all I will lose all my data second of all for some of my paid apps I will have to re-pay.
