Apple One and Apple Music

My husband had an individual Apple Music account set to renew mid-April. I signed up for Apple One (for family sharing) today. Will his Apple Music account automatically merge or does he need to cancel his monthly subscription?

How does the family member cancel there personal subscription? We just signed up from Apple One Family Plan. How do the family members port their individual music accounts over to the Apple One Family Plan?

To be on the safe side, he should cancel. But once he joins the family sharing the system would have terminated his individual subscription.
