Isnt there any chance of harming my Macbook when being plugged in for a long time?

According to https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201834, isnt there any change of harming my Macbook when being plugged in for a long time? I`ve new M1 MBA and really want to treat it the best way possible to not harming the system and its components. I`ve seen a couple forums when desribed its not best solution, but when Apple by its own describes it as the only way to keep external monitor awake, is it alright?

Thanks in advance for answers.

FWIW, I have always kept my Apple laptops plugged into a charger

when not taking it out an about. I have a early 2011 13" MacBook Pro

that I have used with that philosophy since day one. As of a couple

months ago, battery was giving me 2-3 hours of operation which

is pretty darn good for a 10 year old computer. Note: A new M1 MacBook Air

has taken its place and treating just the same way.

FWIW, once a battery is fully charged, the Air runs off the power supply

and the battery is put in "standby".
