I need that level of flexibility: to use either two physical SIMs or one physical + eSIM. So, does version of iPhone 12 pro max with “Physical Dual SIM” (that one for China, Hong Kong etc.) support eSIM as well?
p.s. *** S21 Ultra does, btw...

The iPhones sold in Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China with dual physical SIM slots do not have an eSIM chipset.
Other iPhones have one SIM slot and one eSIM, and the eSIM does allow you to save multiple profiles. Only one can be active at any given time, but you can switch between them.

I am a frequent traveller. In some countries I need to use two SIMs (my home’s one + local with real number for calls etc.), for the other countries it is enough for me to use eSIM just for data plan..
No need to. It has two sims already.
No company makes a phone that has 3 sims.
