Apple Watch Activity Exercise Problem NOT FIXED

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252027793

I’ve recalibrated.

I’ve contacted support

The Apple Watch 6 still thinks I’m exercising whilst I’m driving.

I have been driving for 1 hour 20 mins.

How is it possible that the watch thinks I’m exercising whilst sitting still driving?!

Is this a fault? Or just a bug in the software? It needs fixed ASAP!

Apple Watch Series 6, watchOS 7

Is the watch also recording some ghost workouts for you - or is it just that you are seeing extra exercise minutes, "out of nowhere" ?

You can get some credit for exercise minutes even without any active workout, if your heart rate goes above the threshold when the watch happens to be checking it. During inactivity that checking happens only periodically.

What do you see under heart rate in the Health app during those same times? How about under workouts?

I’ll need to look into this then,

so I can turn it off while driving at work?

Thankyou for explaining this. I actually thought this.

It doesn’t happen in my car so much, but I work as an HGV Truck Driver 🚛 so I am on the motorway for long journeys & it always collects a lot of exercise minutes during this time.

You would honestly think Apple could distinguish between walking, and travelling at 50mph in the lorry 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

With the vibrations from your wrist the accelorometer is interpreting this as steps,it how the watch works, people that knit and crotchet have the same problem.

Whilst driving you could turn off fitness tracking and this will stop the watch measuring.
