MacBook Pro Makes Chirping Sounds

I'm sitting at my desk doing work on my computer and I'm noticing that it makes "chirping" sounds. It seems to be coming from the right side of the computer but the volume is muted.

Hello andrewdtran,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It's understood that you're hearing chirping sounds from your MacBook Pro when the volume is muted. Is this sound constant or do you only notice it randomly? It's possible that this sound could be coming from your hard drive, which is normal.

You can also Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac should you have any hardware concerns.

Have a great day.

If you have a non-Retina Apple laptop, then the chirping sound is a classic sound of a failing hard drive. Get a good backup while you can since the drive failure will get worse to the point where it will be impossible to access anything on the drive.

You can easily replace the failing hard drive by upgrading it to an SSD which will greatly increase system performance.

What is the exact model of your laptop? You can get this information by clicking the Apple menu and selecting "About This Mac". This is important since some older Macs may have compatibility issues with some SSDs and some laptops are known to need a replacement hard drive SATA Cable when upgrading to an SSD.

You should always have frequent and regular backups. FYI, it is impossible to recover accidentally deleted data from an SSD after the Trash has been emptied plus an SSD can fail at any time without any warning signs.
