Can a 2010 MacBook Pro 13" standard USB port be connected directly to 2020 MacBook Pro 13" USB-C (Thunderbolt?) port? I only bought the USB-C to USB ADAPTER. Do I just find a USB to USB cable?? (I don't see it at the Apple Store) Would that help in transferring files and photos directly since I was having trouble with the Migration Assistant? Or is this method incompatible somehow and no point in trying? Thanks
USB is considered a peripheral interface port, generally not appropriate for computer-to-computer transfer.
what are you trying to accomplish?
The Apps you mention can be transferred with the others. Or It's just as easy and slightly more reliable to download and install free Apps again.

Thought I could bypass migration assistant since it was having trouble "findings source". Now I have all my documents in iCloud (accidentally, just wanted some of them in the Cloud). Still not sure what else to try to migrate to new computer (Printer apps, zoom app or are these freely transferable again from web to 2nd (new) computer?
