Changed phone number....
I recently changed my phone number with my carrier. Does Apple/iPhone auto update my new number to everyone in my contacts?

No. You need to do that yourself. You also need to put in a new SIM for the new number if you haven’t already (or update the eSIM if that is what you are using, go to Settings/General/About and change your number, log out of iMessage and FaceTime, and log in with your new number.
