Apple Car Play Skipping 2021 Trailblazer

I just purchased a 2021 Chevy Trailblazer for my daughter and the Apple Carplay is skipping when playing music. It does not matter if the iPhone is plugged in or not - it still skips. It seems like this has been an ongoing issue and it's very frustrating to spend that kind of money on a vehicle and the technology not work properly. It's even more frustrating to see this has been an ongoing issue for the past 3 months or more and there hasn't been a firmware update to fix the issue. Is Apple doing ANYTHING to resolve this??

To start, which model iPhone are we working with? Which exact version of iOS are you updated to under Settings > General > About? Does this happen when playing all music or music from certain apps? Are there any updates for the vehicle's firmware available?
