Mouse trouble

My mouse is locked up. I see the arrow but I cannot move it. I have put new battery’s in it

it acts like there is no communication. I know my Bluetooth is on.

Try the following:

Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support 2-3 times in succession.

How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

If still a problem boot into Safe Mode according to Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support and see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and check again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

Thank you for the reply. I have rebooted the Mac several times my mouse arrow is up on the left top of the monitor right beside the Apple however I cannot get it to move. The whole system is still locked up. I could kick myself because I noticed a few weeks ago it was running kind of slow so I got one of these things caught a fix me stick for a Mac I thought I had a virus and I ran this thing and that’s when I locked up. I’m not saying that’s the culprit but I don’t know why it would do this.

I have the wireless mouse and there’s that little plug that plugs into the back of the I Mac. I’m unsure if that’s for the mouse or the keypad. I found a video how to navigate using your keys. Long story short I got it working. The problem is the mouse has lost its connection to the I Mac. I have changed the batteries and it won’t connect. The I Mac says the Bluetooth is on and then I try to reconnect the mouse but it won’t see the mouse. The little green light on the mouse is blinking. I don’t know how it would lose its connection anyway. Thank you so much for the reply.
