Monitor Resolution Only going up to 720p

I have an LG display that I connect via HDMI to my MacBook Pro (13-inch 2017). Sometimes it gives me the option of 1080p, but most times it just gives me 720. I try to restart my laptop or reconnect, but it won't work.

Macbook Air not detecting LG ultra wide monitor resolution I have an LG ultra wide monitor (29WK50S) and my Mac will only run at 1920x1080 on the monitor even though the native resolution of the monitor is 2560 by 1080. This results in a stretched out image. When I go to display settings, there is not an option to choose 2560x1080 for the monitor, even when I hold the option key to view more resolutions. I have a mid 2013 MacBook Air and I am using a Belkin mini-display port to HDMI adapter. What is the problem?

Not Getting Full Resolution on MacBook Pro 16" 2021 with Ultrawide 3440 x 1440 After upgrading to a new MacBook Pro Max 16" 2021, I cannot seem to get full 3440x1440 resolution on my Sceptre C35 Ultrawide monitor. It's not even an option when I choose 'Show all resolutions'. Highest res available is 2560x1080. It works fine on my MacBook Pro 2019 and MacBook Pro Retina 2015. Is there a known bug with this computer or macOS Monterey? I'm connecting usbc -> hdmi. hdmi->hdmi was even lower res. Thanks

Check if your HDMI cable supports 1080p. Sometimes cheap HDMI cables don't support 1080p or higher which will block your resolution from going higher. Sometimes the dongle you use does this as well.
