Connection from iPad to TV

I can’t seem to be able to connect my iPad to the tv I have brought an adapter but it still won’t work. Any ideas?

Your possibilities of successful connection may depend upon your model of iPad and the “adapter” that you have purchased.

If your iPad has a Lightning Port, you will require an Apple Lightning to Digital AV Adapter and an HDMI2 cable.

  • Lightning Digital AV Adapter

If instead you have a recent iPad Air4 or iPad Pro with a USB-C connection, you will require a different Apple adapter:

  • USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter

For USB-C to HDMI, there are also some third-party USB Hub Adapters which may be usable.

A further alternative is to use AirPlay. If your TV natively supports AirPlay2, you can simply connect via WiFi - or perhaps consider use of an AppleTV box.
