We can't update our 2009 iMac beyond High Sierra and are concerned about security. Any recommendations for antivirus/antimalware software since Apple is not making any further security updates for this iMac?

If you really feel like you need security, the only good one that is recommended is Malwarebytes for Mac (free): https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/.

You're welcome. Common sense is all you really need. The only thing any experience user would recommend if you were to install malware would be Malwarebytes. And that only to remove any you may have installed. Not to use for real time protection.
Thanks for the quick reply. I've always felt secure using my iMac and MacBook Pro because I was keeping up with all updates to the MacOS. But the age of my iMac prevents any further updates since the last update to High Sierra. That's why I'm wondering if there is anything to help secure an old Mac that does everything I need it to do but that Apple no longer supports.

Not to mention most all routers have a built-in firewall.
