"Thanks for your reply I am doing all of that. Yet I also have never had to use a cooler for my laptop so strange this is now happening. I am using an Apple power source as well as 85W?"

Contact Apple Support:

Ask Apple which power adapter to use. They'll know the answer upfront.

Apple Support Info:

Note: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)

Very Battery Condition:

What is the condition fo your battery? To find out...

  1. Go To: Apple Menu
  2. Select: About this Mac
  3. Click: System Report... button
  4. Select: Hardware
  5. Click: Power
  6. View: Condition (located under "Health Information")

What does it read? Does it read "Normal"

What to Do:

Use a power adapter that is of Apple brand, and one that has the correct wattage. Also, place it atop a laptop cooler, and keep it in an open space (i.e. out of the corner of the room, and away from direct sunlight).
