Macbook Pro runs very hot

I recently purchased my MacBook Pro and shortly after I turn it on it starts to get hot and the fan comes on. It also seems to take a long time to charge. I do not have any programs on the unit yet. I do not recall it happening when I first purchased it a couple of months ago.

Is there something that can be done to fix this?

You can always Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

Keep your Mac notebook within acceptable operating temperatures
