iPhone 6S Stuck at iOS 12.4.1-Only Update Available Is 14.4.2

We have 2 iPhone 6S purchased new in January 2019.

We have not been offered any iOS updates since iOS 12. Software Update only has 14.4.2 available.

From what I have read elsewhere we should be able to catchup with iOS 12.5.2 but I cannot find a way to make it happen.

Any ideas why Apple isn't offering us the iOS 12 update and is there a way to fix this?

You cannot update to an older version no longer available to the phone model you own. iPhone 6s can be updated to iOS 14.4.2 and if you want to update you phone, that's the version you will have to update to. In other words, it is not possible to get iOS 12.5.2 on an iPhone 6s.

I found the correct page with the eligible models: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201222

I now see that 6S only has 14.4.2 available as an update. Sorry for the confusion on my end.

I've been watching the user reports regarding iOS 14 and reported battery problems, particularly with the 6S. It's made me leery of updating even with a relatively new lightly-used phone with a lot of measured battery life remaining.
