M1 chip not compatible with FCP ?

Just got my MBA 16 Gb ram and 1Tb, 8-8 core. Transferred my data from my previous MBP successfully, then FCP refuses to start saying it is incompatible with the machine. I found lots of comments and videos showing it works, so where do I start to look for a solution ? Also, on the app store, Apple claims FCP is not available for this chip. Please provide guidance to resolve issue.

As was said already, you have to tell us what version you have.

I can attest that 10.4.10 works using Rosetta; and 10.5 and later work natively.

I am perplexed by your comment that "Apple claims FCP is not available for this chip". Of course it is.

Please show us where you see that.

Clicking on "Updates" in the App Store, does FCP not appear as having an update?

Clicking on your account (bottom left of the App Store window), do you see Final Cut Pro on the list of your purchases?

Does it have an "Open" or "Download" button?

If it appears in your purchases but not on Updates, drag FCP to the trash (don't empty it yet), then open the App Store again, click your account, then click Download.
