IOS 14-iPhone 12 mini bluetooth audio with car stereo very low

I have noticed this recently. If I tune into a radio station on my car stereo and have the volume setting at 10 the sound is sort of loud. When I connect my iPhone 12 mini via bluetooth to hear Apple Music at the very same setting the volume is very low. I have to turn up the dial to at least 16 to equal the sound of the radio station.

I noticed that a few seconds after the song on Apple Music starts, it begins at the radio station sound but quickly "the sound level goes down" and then I have to turn up the dial to 16.

One thing I noticed today is if my iPhone 12 mini is unlocked I can click the top left button to raise the volume and it raises considerably. But when I lock the phone the sound level again is lowered.

Music>Sound check is off

Headphone safety>reduce sound sounds is off

Any help would be greatly appreciated

From our understanding, when connecting your iPhone thru bluetooth to your car, the volume is much lower than expected. We can certainly understand your concern and can help provide some insight.

It is likely a feature on the iPhone that is designed to help protect your hearing. You can learn more about that here: Headphone notifications on your iPhone, iPod touch, or Apple Watch - Apple Support

This feature can sometimes detect a vehicle connecting through bluetooth as headphones and will automatically lower the volume when it connects.

Thank you for clarifying that for us. Since this is happening within the settings of the car radio, the next best option is to reach out to the radio manufacturer or car dealership.

Hello Mario-Thanks for these links. I am already aware of these and use them regularly. My question was in reference to my car stereo when connected to bluetooth via my iPhone. The radio volume settings and the bluetooth level is not the same. Not even close. That's what I am trying to correct so when I disconnect my iPhone and choose the radio setting, the sound volume does not need to be turned down right away before my hearing is lost.
