I have an Apple Pencil second generation but do not have an iPad Pro. Is there some other way to charge the pencil?
The first and second generation Pencil use an entirely different pairing and charging interface. The second generation Pencil can only be used with iPad models that have the magnetic/inductive dock that is exclusively designed for the Pencil. Charging is controlled via the iPad magnetic dock; the second generation Pencil cannot be charged using a charging mat or Qi charging solutions.
The first generation Apple Pencil, more likely to be compatible with your iPad, uses the physical Lightning port for both pairing and charging the first generation Pencil. This pencil can only be used with compatible iPad models that have a Lightning connector.
In summary, the Apple Pencil models are not interchangeable - and can only be used with the iPad that has appropriate internal hardware.

You didn't answer my question.
I think you have THE WRONG version Pencil.
What iPad do you have/own?
Also, some older iPad models DO NOT WORK with ANY version of Pencil.
Why aren’t you telling us what version iPad you currently have/own?
In order to charge it, it has to be magnetically attached to the iPad Pro on its side.

You purchased the wrong Pencil.
What year and model iPad do you own/have?
Thanks. But I do not have an iPad Pro, so I was wondering if I could just charge it by attaching it to and an iPhone charger or an I watch charger?
No, it is done magnetically by attaching it to the side of the iPad Pro. There is no other way to charge it.
