Device overheated after 14.4.2 update

iPhone 7 was in perfect shape on 13.x. After iOS update it starts to overheating the area around the corner of the camera while just browsing the web. Using mor than 50% battery in 30 minutes!

thanks for the reply.


I solved this in the meantime: had a quick call with remote genius who suggested to replace the battery.

However, the overheating issue really felt to me as if you had idea loops running on all cores ;-)

Some other in this forum pointed out that 14.4 on many different devices had the same issue and the only fix was to factory reset them.

As a last resort I tried and succeeded; be aware it is a pain, taking hours of attended restore and reregistering for all apps/services that are tied to HW config and id (e.g. soft tokens).
