Write raw Zhuyin and tones / Zhuyin without auto completion

Hi guys,

So I’m using iOS (Ipad, with physical keyboard)

I just want to learn zhuyin, so I need to input the raw zhuyin with the tones. This is what I have tried so far:

  • If I type it literally, the autocompletion will just automatically convert it to hanzi, and I can’t change it back to zhuyin
  • I can type only the zhuyin part, but without tones, press enter before choosing the tone mark (i.e. if I want to write mu4, I only can writing ㄇㄨ), And later on, if I want to add the tones only, I can’t do that, because the zhuyin input doesn’t allow us to only type the tone without the symbol
  • search in the internet how to do this, but no luck.. :(

For this, do you guys have any idea how to write the raw Zhuyin + tones mark?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Gulio. But it seems the iOS work differently with the Mac.

Hi Tom, actually I find the key for physical keyboard (it's "Tab" instead of "Enter", so different with Pinyin), and yeah, for screen keyboard is no problem because the raw Zhuyin will always be in the last two recommendation, so you can click it (but you can)

So just want to share about this problem:

  • if you have physical keyboard:
    1. choose keyboard > physical keyboard
    2. search for the "zhuyin" part in it
    3. there will be an option of "Live Conversion"
    4. turn off the "Live Conversion option"
    5. then you can use "Tab" key to write the raw Zhuyin
  • if you only have your screen:
    • the raw zhuyin will be always available in the last two recommendation for autocompletion, so select it manually (unfortunately, there is no such things as enter / tab to write the raw tho)

Hope this could help other people out there with same / similar problem!
