Switched from Pixel to iPhone & texts from androids still go to the Pixel

Hello,

I used to have an iPhone, then I switched to the Google Pixel for a few years, but now I'm back on the iPhone. I switched my SIM card over and everything is working fine EXCEPT I'm not getting texts on my iPhone from my friends with androids. Those texts are still going to the Pixel.

I saw one other support forum here for the same issue and that person fixed it by logging out of their google account on their Pixel. I tried that and it didn't work. I logged out of my google account, restarted my phone, turned off "send text through Wifi" on the Pixel, but I'm still not getting the android texts on my iPhone. I also deleted my friend's number and text threads to re-added them to start fresh. That still didn't work.

What else can I do to fix this?

I had a similar issue when my wife switched from Pixel to IPhone. She would no longer get texts from my pixel, but I got hers to me. What ended up fixing it, was:

On my phone (pixel 4) I went into her text conversation

Clicked on the 3 dots in the upper right

Clicked "Details"

Enabled "Only send SMS and MMS messages.

That was the only thing we could get to work after trying a bunch of other things.

Ask one of your friends to try this and see if it works.

Thank you for posting in Apple SUpport Communities. We know how important it is to be able to send and receive your text messages and want to help. Try the steps here: If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

You'll also want to go to Settings > Messages and make sure your number is checked under Send & Received.
