Accessory not supported keeps popping up and Magic keyboard will not work

Accessory not supported keeps popping up when I attach iPad to magic keyboard. It worked until a day or 2 ago so not sure if it’s a update or a setting but can not find anything to help me.

Hello deworley,

We understand that you’re receiving an error message when connecting your Magic Keyboard to your iPad. We’ll do our best to sort this out. To clarify, are you able to connect your iPad to other Bluetooth devices? To get started, we’d like to ensure that you’re running the latest software version. You will need to have  iPadOS 13.4 or later: Update iPadOS

If your iPad is already updated, let’s proceed with the following steps below:

•  Remove any other iPad case or cover.

• Use a soft, lint-free cloth to remove any debris and clean the connectors on your device.

Restart your iPad

Set up and use Magic Keyboard for iPad

It will Bluetooth to the Apple Pencil and AirPod pros and cricut machine.

we have os 14.2.2

i thought of removing the last update to see if that was the cause of the problem however there’s no way to uninstall it that I have found?

I have turned the iPad off and back on.

we purchased the magic keyboard through Walmart new on February 6 so we have only had it a couple months with 0 trouble until now.

I chatted online with support and they said we had to take to nearest Apple store - which is almost 2 hours away - so I suppose we are going to try to make a appt to do that this week?

deworley,

Got it. We know how important it is to have this issue resolved as quickly as possible. Once you have completed the update on your device, there is not a way to revert to a previous version. At this time, we suggest having your Magic Keyboard evaluated by an Apple Technician. You can schedule an appointment with an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider nearest you: Get Support

We hope you have a wonderful day. Stay safe and well!
