If you are not sure it is jailbroken, then I would suggest that you perform the steps to restore it regardless.
Some methods to determine if it was are:
You can find numerous articles on the Internet on how to restore a jailbroken phone, but the following will be the basic steps needed:
You could entirely wipe the phone. (Settings-general-reset-erase all content and settings)
And is this phone newer than their phones you’ve had? Because is so, they could just be features that your last phones didn’t have.
Giving you any advice about how to use a jailbroken iPhone safely is a violation of the terms of use of this forum. If you didn't jailbreak your phone, it's likely not jailbroken. They don't jailbreak themselves. If you choose to jailbreak your phone and you brick it, which is quite common, you won't get any support here or from Apple at all.
thanks for the reply, however, i purchased this iphone6s second hand, and my question is; how do i know whether it has been jailbroken or not? and if it has, what’s the best way to restore it to original, if it’s even possible? i have a few custom settings on the phone that i’ve never seen before, and i’m an avid iphone user, though still basic in knowledge, i would prefer to keep a phone Not Jailbroken.. thanks
thanks. no this is an older phone than what i’m use to, i had a iphone XR that had same crappy update 14.4, however that phone was stolen. this iphone 6s is all i could afford for now. and one of the features i’m speaking of is that i can put my apps anywhere on the screen, rather than the phones usually app orientation..
okay thank you Tesserax. i will try the itunes restore. and i appreciate that. i don’t think keeping my iphone jailbroken, whether it is or not, is a beneficial thing. i know with my warranty and such with my XR , this is not something i would even consider. thanks
If you jailbreak it, you completely eliminate the built in security of the device, not to mention forfeit all rights to support.
You can't get help here or from Apple for a jailbroken phone.
I would recommend erasing all content (shown above) just to be safe. And the iPhone XR is a wonderful phone. And iOS 14 is also great!
