iPhone 4 or Galaxy S?

I have an iPhone 4 the problem is every time I'm using it the signal goes down to one or two bars plus whenever I'm talking on the phone I hear a little bit of static noise in the background. I like the iPhone 4 but those are the only two issues I'm having right now. I'm thinking of switching to the Galaxy S, It has good reviews. I was also wondering if I get another iPhone 4 is it going to fix the reception problem?

Believe it or not, there are pansies out there that complain when a phone weighs a couple more ounces vs. another model, saying that it's too heavy.

As for the scratching very easily, well take a look at these forums and you'll see scratch related threads.

Not a big deal really. Most people will use some kind of fully body skin or maybe even a case.

Also, I'd take a Ford Fiesta, Fusion or Volt over a BMW. I don't like looking like a rich snob or pretentious ***** out in public.

I'm waiting for the Galaxy S to ship with Android 2.2. This is after returning my Iphone 4 due to the proximity sensor issue.

Many of the people on here (including myself) have been sucked into the Apple brand for too long. Whilst there is a good reason for this - they make great products, the same cannot be said for the iPhone 4.

In comparison, you get what you pay for. I can get a Galaxy S for about £330 in the Uk, that's £170 cheaper than the iPhone 4, 16gb model. The main differences are lack of camera flash on the Galaxy S the reduced number of apps available and the less frequent and difficult to install software updates. I can actually live with these because I want a phone that works. I have a decent camera for my everyday use so it doesnt bother me.

The screen on the Galaxy S also looks amazing in terms of size, even though the iPhone 4 has a nicer colour about it. Yes - the galaxy is a bit plasticy but you know what, i can live with that. It's lighter too, and I wont worry about every little insy winsy scratch and worry when I give it to my mate to play with. Looking after an iphone 4 is like looking after a little kid, too much responsibility.

So in summary - In the uk it looks like the Galaxy S is the best alternative to the iPhone4. Iphone 4 is a better phone when it works (which is doesnt). If i was lived in the US however; the HTC evo4 is the way to go.
