MMS fails to send photo to group with any non-Apple device members

This problem has occurred for me across many years on different iPhones and iOS versions including my current 11 pro and latest 14.4.2 iOS. I’ve seen others post the same problem with a variety of suggestions and wanted to share my experience. My group of 6 users was a mix of Android and iPhone devices and we could all send text without a problem and some Android users sent photos to the group. However when I tried to send a photo from iPhone it failed repeatedly, even after reboot. The fix for me was:

1 Settings > Messages > turn off MMS Messaging

2 Reboot

3 Turn MMS Messaging back on

4 Resend failed message with photo

Hey Apple - why don’t you just fix this for good instead of worrying about the latest set of stupid emojis and other worthless features.

When you research all the users who have had this problem you will find it spans across carriers and yet you’re saying all carriers have this problem, and only if using Apple phones, not Android?

Wrong answer. Read carefully.

Disabling the MMS feature, rebooting the Apple iPhone and reenabling MMS solves the problem. In other words rebooting the Apple software that implements the MMS interface to the carrier service solves the problem.

We pay big money for Apple phones that are tightly integrated to specific carriers and when the phone doesn’t work correctly it’s suddenly a carrier problem? How convenient.

Once again, I ask why Apple hasn’t resolved this issue by making the software more robust to work correctly with carrier services like MMS?
